As Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will design, build, and scale Posh's cloud infrastructure to support millions of monthly users. You'll work closely with product engineers, data, and security teams to ensure systems are reliable, performant, and operationally efficient. This role combines hands-on DevOps expertise with a software engineering mindset, focusing on building automation, observability, and developer tooling that accelerates the entire organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Architect resilient, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure using AWS and cloud-native tools
- Develop CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code systems (Terraform, GitHub Actions, Docker) for seamless deployment
- Implement alerting, logging, and tracing systems to enable rapid issue diagnosis and resolution
- Partner cross-functionally with Platform PM and engineers across backend, frontend, and data teams to set infrastructure priorities
- Contribute to IAM design, least-privilege access, and cloud security posture management
- Identify and eliminate scaling bottlenecks through production telemetry, profiling, and load testing
- Mentor engineers on infrastructure design, cloud efficiency, and secure deployment best practices
- Drive operational excellence and improve how services are built, tested, deployed, and operated
This is a full-time, in-person role at the SoHo office in New York City, requiring 5 days per week onsite.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience as an Infrastructure, DevOps, or Backend Engineer
- Extensive experience with Terraform and reusable infrastructure-as-code patterns
- Deep knowledge of AWS services (ECS/EC2, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, Kafka, SNS/SQS, etc.) and infrastructure automation
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and orchestration systems (ECS, EKS, or equivalent)
- Proficiency in JavaScript or Python, and familiarity with scripting for automation
- Strong grasp of cloud security principles, identity and access management, and cost optimization
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, observability, and system reliability
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Passion for automation, scalability, and improving developer velocity
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with multi-region or distributed cloud systems
- Exposure to compliance and security tooling for cloud posture management
- Open-source infrastructure tool contributions
- Background in mentoring engineers or leading reliability initiatives
