Ivo is a contract intelligence platform that uses AI to analyze and extract insights from legal documents. The company serves enterprise customers like Uber, Meta, Canva, IBM, and Shopify, and recently completed a Series B funding round with 800% growth over the past year.
As Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you'll own the foundation that keeps Ivo's platform running reliably at scale. Each customer gets an isolated environment (containers, databases, VPCs), and your role is to ensure those systems stay up and performant even when cloud providers have incidents or regions fail.
Key responsibilities include:
- Architect and operate multi-cluster, multi-region Kubernetes deployments across AWS, GCP, and Azure with real failover and disaster recovery
- Build internal tooling that lets developers spin up and manage infrastructure consistently, eliminating manual environment configuration
- Design workload isolation strategies that balance cost, performance, and reliability for different traffic patterns (ML vs. API)
- Implement security controls (RBAC, workload identity, secrets management, audit trails) that satisfy enterprise compliance without slowing product velocity
- Define and enforce realistic SLOs that actually matter and won't create false alarms
- Own CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and infrastructure-as-code (Pulumi) across the entire deployment process
- Maintain Docker environments across dev, staging, and production to ensure consistency
- Debug end-to-end across the stack—APIs, workers, jobs, frontend builds—not just infrastructure
- Automate repetitive toil and improve build/deployment speed
- Build observability that surfaces failures before customers report them
- Lead incident response and write postmortems that drive learning
You should have 5+ years of hands-on infrastructure experience, deep Kubernetes knowledge (cluster architecture, scheduling, networking, storage), and fluency with IaC and CI/CD across multi-region setups. You think in failure modes, translate compliance requirements into technical constraints, and debug systematically across system boundaries. Experience in startups is preferred.
