ICEYE is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to own and evolve the cloud networking foundations supporting its satellite operations, ground systems, and global customer deliveries. The role sits within the Product Networking, Fleet Control and Satellite Communications department and reports to an Engineering Manager.
You will take ownership of ICEYE's AWS infrastructure, which has grown faster than formal governance and evolution processes can keep pace with. Your mandate is to bring structure, automation, and reliability to environments currently maintained reactively, directly impacting mission-critical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities.
Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and operating cloud networking infrastructure (AWS preferred) for satellite operations and customer delivery; contributing hands-on to the networking layer; managing infrastructure through automation, API-driven configuration, and version-controlled change processes (Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD); designing hybrid networks connecting cloud and on-premises environments; and owning critical production systems with focus on reliability, observability, and security.
Required qualifications: proven experience operating cloud infrastructure with AWS preferred; strong understanding of core networking fundamentals, routing, and their application in hybrid and cloud environments; understanding of secure network design (VPNs, encrypted communications); hands-on experience with infrastructure automation and IaC tooling (Git, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines); ability to design, explain, and defend network architecture decisions; and a pragmatic, collaborative mindset balancing technical quality with business needs.
Nice-to-have qualifications include background evolving from classic networking into cloud environments, experience with on-premises networking hardware and physical infrastructure, expert-level experience with enterprise network operating systems or firewall platforms, and willingness for hands-on work with physical infrastructure.
The role is permanent, hybrid (3 days per week in office in Espoo), and subject to applicable security screening including SUPO where required. Base salary range is €6,000–€8,000 per month gross, negotiated individually based on experience.
