Zscaler is seeking a Senior Information Security Engineer to join the Enterprise Security team, reporting to the Senior Manager of Information Security Engineering. This is a remote role based in Costa Rica focused on data protection operations.
You will be responsible for implementing and operationalizing Zscaler's security tools with emphasis on data loss prevention (DLP) solutions. Key responsibilities include:
• Implement and provide tuning recommendations for data loss prevention solutions across multiple exfiltration vectors (web, endpoint, email)
• Perform periodic reviews of the data protection program and deliver recommendations for improvement
• Maintain strong relationships with business partners to identify where sensitive data resides and design appropriate controls
• Respond to and continuously improve processes for DLP alerts, reducing false positives and moving controls to blocking state with minimal business impact
• Focus on data protection in a SaaS-first landscape, with particular emphasis on Google Workspace
• Leverage AI tools and automation to enhance operational efficiency and support data processing and tuning opportunities
You will work within Zscaler's Zero Trust Exchange platform, the world's largest in-line cloud security platform distributed across 200+ global data centers. The role emphasizes a problem-solving mindset, growth orientation, data-driven decision-making, and adaptability in a high-growth environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Demonstrated curiosity and active exploration of AI tools, with proven history of integrating new technologies into daily workflows
• Experience with a variety of data loss prevention tools, understanding various exfiltration avenues (web, endpoint, email)
• Proven working knowledge of reviewing DLP alerts, reducing false positives, and transitioning controls to blocking state with minimal business disruption
• Understanding of various data stores (cloud and SaaS) to deploy monitoring functionality and controls
• Experience across multiple security domains with working knowledge of compensating controls and monitoring when primary controls cannot be implemented
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Proven ability to leverage AI technologies and workflows to drive measurable operational efficiency
• Experience with Zscaler security tools, particularly ZIA DLP (IDM, EDM, CASB) and DSPM
• Automation and/or AI skills to support data processing and tuning opportunities
