K2 Space is building the largest and highest-power satellites ever flown, backed by $450M in funding from leading investors including Altimeter Capital, Redpoint Ventures, and T. Rowe Price. The company is mass-producing advanced satellite platforms for missions across LEO, MEO, and GEO orbits, with multiple launches planned through 2026 and 2027.
As Senior Harness Design Engineer, you will serve as the Responsible Engineer for harness and wiring system design across K2's Mega and Giga satellite platforms. Your responsibilities include designing, analyzing, and releasing harness systems for bus avionics, mechanisms, RF systems, and payloads. You will define interface control documents for avionics boxes and bulkheads, optimize system diagrams and schematics, and create production drawings in CAD based on vehicle layouts.
You will drive design trades to reduce cost and mass while increasing integration rate, selecting harness components such as connectors, contacts, wire/cables, shield braid, heaters, and RTDs. Collaboration with cross-functional teams—including manufacturing engineering, technicians, and avionics integration teams—is central to the role. You will establish production test requirements, support high-rate manufacturing, and enable constellation launch cadence.
In your first two years, you will qualify hardware for flight, complete avionics integration on the satellite bus, and see your hardware flown through intense radiation environments across multiple orbital regimes. This is a hands-on role at a rapidly scaling aerospace company where your work directly impacts next-generation satellite capability.
