Salary: USD 120,000 - 140,000 / annual
Beacon Biosignals is transforming precision medicine for the brain through at-home EEG and cardiopulmonary diagnostic platforms. As a Senior Hardware Test Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive testing strategies for novel EEG and Home Sleep Test systems that meet clinical, regulatory, and business requirements.
You will report to the VP of Device Systems and collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, system, and software engineering teams. Your core responsibilities include hardware characterization and verification testing, firmware unit and integration testing, system integration validation, root cause analysis, and quality documentation aligned with FDA and international medical device standards (IEC 60601).
Key deliverables include developing and documenting detailed test plans, protocols, and scripts for embedded systems; creating and maintaining test procedures, fixtures, and equipment; conducting functional, integration, system, and regression testing; troubleshooting hardware and firmware issues in electromechanical systems; and implementing process improvements and test automation to enhance quality and efficiency.
You will work across the full product lifecycle from concept through commercialization, ensuring all devices meet industry standards, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance. The role requires strong technical documentation skills, ability to read electrical schematics, experience with RTOS-based embedded software, Python scripting, Git/JIRA workflows, and ideally knowledge of medical device design controls and regulations.
This is a hybrid role based in Boston with approximately 3 days per week in-office; Beacon maintains offices in Boston, New York, and Paris with robust asynchronous work practices.
