Oura is seeking a Senior Hardware Operations Program Specialist to own the financial and operational backbone of new product introduction (NPI) programs for their award-winning Oura Ring hardware. This role bridges budget management and factory operations, requiring someone who can track spend across multiple concurrent hardware programs while staying connected to manufacturing realities.
You will spend the majority of your time managing and reconciling NPI program budgets across multiple hardware programs and contract manufacturers. This includes tracking build spend, closing gaps between forecast and actuals, and providing leadership with a clear, trustworthy financial picture. You'll lead FY budget development for Operations, own day-to-day tracking of program budgets (ops builds, tooling, NPI capital and operating expenses), and partner with program leads, sourcing, engineering, and finance to understand and resolve variance drivers. You'll maintain and evolve budget consolidation workbooks and reporting tools, manage fund reallocation across programs as priorities shift, and prepare regular budget status updates to leadership while flagging risks proactively. You'll also ensure fiscal integrity and audit-readiness, continuously improve budget tracking processes, and align with Cost Innovation and CapEx teams on build cost actualization.
The remainder of your time supports factory NPI builds directly (Proto/EVT/DVT/PVT and early mass production). You'll track material readiness, build risks, build matrix planning, and open issues alongside program teams and contract manufacturers. You'll act as a coordination point between internal Ops teams and CM operations during line bring-up activities, identify opportunities to streamline and automate workflows, assess and consolidate cross-functional data into actionable briefings, and help ensure lines come up on schedule and within budget.
You'll work across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, and Finance, and directly with contract manufacturers. This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days per week in the San Francisco office, with up to 10% global travel.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of experience in financial planning/budget management, program management, supply chain, or manufacturing operations (combination of budget and hardware operations experience ideal)
- Advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel/Google Sheets) and comfort building and maintaining complex, multi-program budget/reconciliation workbooks
- Experience with AI tools, automation, or scripting (Python, SQL, no-code/low-code, LLM-based tooling) to streamline budget tracking or reporting workflows
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate detailed financial and operational data into clear, concise updates for executive audiences
- High attention to detail and comfort managing multiple concurrent workstreams and deadlines
- Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and influence without direct authority, across internal teams and external contract manufacturers
- Up to 10% global travel required; San Francisco in-office work required
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience in consumer electronics or hardware industry, ideally supporting NPI programs
- Familiarity with NPI phase gates (Proto/EVT/DVT/PVT/MP) and CM/factory operations
- Database or statistical software experience (SQL, SPSS, SAS, or similar)
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
