Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Senior Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Engineer specializing in Navigation and Estimation to join the Flight Engineering department. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, testing, and implementing cutting-edge flight system technologies for aerospace systems across subsonic, supersonic, and hypersonic autonomous platforms. You will take cradle-to-grave ownership of navigation system design for one or more Anduril products, including autonomous air power systems, advanced tactical missile systems, strategic weapons, and hypersonic strike and defense systems. Key responsibilities include: • Lead navigation system architecture design and analysis across the Anduril product portfolio • Develop and integrate advanced alternative navigation aiding sources, including lab, motion, and flight testing • Support flight testing to validate navigation performance against mission requirements and troubleshoot anomalies • Conduct trade studies, modeling, simulation, and analysis to validate algorithm accuracy, robustness, and performance • Design, develop, and integrate inertial navigation systems (INS) for aerospace vehicles (UAS, spacecraft, missiles) • Develop and optimize navigation filters, models, and simulations using existing Anduril frameworks • Lead development of algorithms for navigation, guidance, and control systems, including Extended Kalman filters and estimation methods • Develop advanced sensor fusion algorithms leveraging INS, GNSS, cameras, LiDAR, and other sensors for accurate navigation across subsea, surface, air, and space domains • Apply covariance analysis techniques for requirements derivation and system optimization • Improve calibration procedures for sensor suites in aerospace navigation systems • Collect and analyze platform telemetry data to validate platform operation and performance Anduril fosters a dynamic learning culture with accelerated knowledge acquisition through modeling, simulation, analysis, and rigorous ground and flight test experimentation. You will be directly involved in flight testing the systems you develop.
