Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior GNC Software Engineer to join the Battlespace Awareness Command and Control Software team in Waltham, Massachusetts. This role focuses on developing cutting-edge path planning and route optimization algorithms for military command and control systems.
You will define and influence the direction of a small team within the C2 software organization, leveraging deep subject-matter expertise in path planning, trajectory optimization, and guidance, navigation, and control (GNC). Key responsibilities include prototyping and deploying state-of-the-art algorithms for global and local path planning, multi-agent coordination, and autonomous mission execution within real-time C2 systems.
You will develop high-performance software ranging from operator-facing mission planning tools to autonomous tasking and routing services that orchestrate fleets of unmanned platforms. This includes designing robust planners, search algorithms, and decision-making systems that generate safe, feasible, and optimal routes in dynamic, uncertain, and contested environments. You will analyze system performance using high-fidelity simulations and rigorous statistical techniques to validate planner behavior across diverse mission scenarios.
The role requires driving customer success by customizing algorithms for mission-critical use cases including collaborative autonomy, asset routing, and obstacle/threat avoidance. You will integrate path planning technologies into the broader C2 software stack and development lifecycle, and translate technical progress into actionable insights for diverse stakeholders.
Required qualifications include 8+ years of experience in algorithm design, software development, and mathematical modeling with expertise in C/C++, Python, and Matlab. Strong knowledge of path planning techniques (A*, D* Lite, RRT, RRT*, PRM, lattice/grid-based planners) is essential. Demonstrated experience in GNC, trajectory optimization, and predictive modeling for vehicle dynamics is required. Solid understanding of applied mathematics including linear algebra, optimization, computational geometry, and graph theory is necessary.
