Impulse Space is seeking a Senior Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer to lead technical development of GNC systems for high-performance space vehicles. In this role, you will own all aspects of vehicle GNC across development and operational phases, working within a fast-paced, agile engineering team.
Key responsibilities include implementing GNC flight, test, and analysis systems for spacecraft produced at scale; developing robust algorithms for satellites in LEO and GEO orbits, large upper stages, and landers; and generating GNC verification data for Impulse's mission portfolio. You will participate in both flight code and simulation software development, mentor junior engineers, and define best practices for vehicle GNC systems. Additionally, you will create tools and infrastructure to accelerate GNC system development across all flight vehicles, resolve complex technical challenges with innovative solutions, and communicate design requirements and capabilities to the broader engineering organization.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 5+ years of hands-on experience in spacecraft GNC design and analysis. You must be proficient in MATLAB and C++, with demonstrated expertise in control analysis (time and frequency domains), estimation theory, and/or astrodynamics. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level engineer passionate about space technology to make a direct impact on next-generation spacecraft systems.
