Basecamp Research is seeking a Senior Global Research Partnerships Manager to lead and scale international collaborations within its Global Research Team. The company is building the world's largest ethically-sourced biological dataset (BaseData) to power frontier AI models for protein design and therapeutic research. With hubs in London and Boston, and partnerships across 152 organizations in 28 countries, Basecamp Research recently closed Series B funding and secured pre-Series C investment from NVIDIA.
In this senior, hands-on role, you will take ownership of implementing and scaling existing research collaborations while identifying opportunities to deepen partnerships with research institutes, governments, NGOs, and conservation agencies. Your primary focus will be delivering on live or upcoming collaborations, ensuring they reach their scientific and strategic potential. You'll proactively identify gaps, risks, and opportunities within current partnerships and act decisively without requiring detailed direction.
Key responsibilities include leading the development and management of international biodiversity collaborations, working closely with legal and policy teams to ensure robust frameworks, regulatory compliance, and equitable benefit-sharing mechanisms. You'll support capacity-building programs and knowledge exchange with partners, ensuring transparent access to insights and benefits. You'll coordinate environmental sampling expeditions to areas such as national parks and conservation areas, managing field teams across multi-week expeditions in remote environments. This includes logistics coordination, equipment management, safety protocols, and real-time problem-solving.
You'll also deliver DNA extraction training to biodiversity partners globally, coordinate DNA biobanking in London, and bridge partnership and field operations sides of the company's work. The role requires someone with an existing professional network in biodiversity, conservation, government relations, or science diplomacy—connections that can be leveraged to strengthen current partnerships and open doors to new ones. You should be proactive, capable of taking ownership of complex multi-stakeholder relationships from day one, and comfortable working in dynamic, international environments.
