Hippo is a tech-native insurance carrier platform that partners with MGAs to deliver tailored program solutions. We're seeking an experienced General Liability Claims Adjuster to manage a diverse caseload of bodily injury and property damage claims across multiple jurisdictions.
In this role, you will investigate, evaluate, and resolve general liability claims including premises liability, products liability, personal injury, and property damage exposures. You'll conduct thorough coverage analysis, apply relevant policy terms and exclusions, and interview claimants, witnesses, and insureds to gather supporting documentation. You'll partner with legal counsel, defense attorneys, and outside experts on litigated claims, set and maintain appropriate case reserves, and negotiate settlements directly with claimants, attorneys, and third-party representatives.
Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with state-specific unfair claims practices acts and licensing requirements across all jurisdictions, managing claim files from first notice of loss through resolution (including subrogation and recovery opportunities), and maintaining accurate documentation in the claims management system. You'll stay current on evolving state regulations, case law, and industry trends affecting liability claims handling. Above all, you'll deliver exceptional customer service to claimants, insureds, and business partners—communicating with empathy, professionalism, and transparency at every touchpoint, responding promptly to inquiries, and proactively providing status updates.
