Allocate is building an operating system for private markets, enabling wealth advisors and their clients to access, transact in, and manage private market investments. The platform supports 350+ advisory firms and 1,500+ GP relationships with $5B+ in assets. Atlas Fund Services, LLC, Allocate's fund administration business unit, runs operations for private market funds and feeder vehicles. As a Senior Fund Accountant, you will own end-to-end operations for a portfolio of complex funds and vehicles, including financial accounting, capital calls and distributions, investor reporting, and cash management. You will serve as the technical resource and reviewer for other fund accountants on the team, interpreting partnership agreements and translating economic terms into allocations, waterfalls, carried interest, and management fee calculations. Key responsibilities include: owning end-to-end fund operations for complex funds; reviewing work from other accountants and providing constructive feedback; interpreting partnership agreements, subscription documents, and side letters; preparing and reviewing quarterly and annual financial statements; serving as primary contact for fund audits; partnering with external service providers (banking, legal, audit, tax); working with software development teams to scope and implement automation; serving as technical resource and informal mentor; leading special projects; and contributing to compliance policy improvements. Success is measured by funds closing, reporting, and distributing on schedule; fund audits completing on deadline with no material adjustments; complex fund terms receiving clear, documented answers; junior accountants measurably improving under your review; and visible reductions in cycle time through product and engineering partnerships. This is a senior individual contributor role without direct reports, suited for someone with deep private markets fund operations experience who is ready to raise standards and build better processes. REQUIREMENTS: - 5+ years of experience in fund administration servicing private equity and/or venture capital funds, with proven operations and project management skills - Deep working knowledge of private markets fund accounting (allocations, waterfalls, carried interest, management fees, and applicable reporting requirements) - Hands-on experience with a fund accounting platform and confidence learning new ones - Comfort reading and applying fund legal documents, including limited partnership agreements and side letters - Experience working within a regulated and supervised industry - Robust analytical skills across quantitative and qualitative metrics - Exemplary oral and written communication skills, including with investors and external auditors - Ability and willingness to lead and manage complex initiatives and review others' work constructively - Dedication to Allocate's mission NICE TO HAVE: - Experience with Allvue, Zive, or comparable fund accounting platforms - Experience migrating from one fund accounting platform to another - CPA or public accounting experience in alternative investments practice - Comfort using SQL, advanced Excel, or AI-assisted tools for analysis and reporting
