Bedrock Manufacturing Co. operates Shinola and Filson as iconic American consumer brands focused on handcrafted goods and outdoor apparel. The corporate accounting team supports both brands through a shared services model, providing centralized expertise across key business functions.
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes across multiple brands and business channels. This is a high-visibility position on a small, capable accounting team. You will own complex reconciliations, close deliverables, and financial analysis that inform leadership decisions on margin, spend, and growth across retail, ecommerce, and wholesale channels. Working in a shared service model, you will partner daily with Supply Chain, Operations, Retail, Ecommerce, and FP&A teams rather than working in a silo.
Key responsibilities include: owning and executing complex monthly account reconciliations across cash, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and intercompany accounts; leading cost and margin analysis including gross margin drivers, COGS analysis, standard cost variance analysis, and manufacturing cost fluctuations; analyzing financial and operational data to identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities; supporting monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes; preparing and posting journal entries with audit-ready documentation; assisting with budget-to-actual variance analysis; partnering cross-functionally with operations and finance teams; supporting internal and external audit requests; maintaining and improving internal controls and accounting policies; identifying and implementing process improvements and automation opportunities; participating in ERP system enhancements; and supporting ad hoc financial analysis and special projects.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced retail and consumer products environment. You should be comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities simultaneously, and communicating financial insights clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders. This position reports directly to the Accounting Manager.
