CLEAR is building a secure identity platform transforming how people live, work, and travel. The Healthcare team is seeking a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer to design and scale secure, interoperable identity and data solutions connecting patients, providers, and partners across the healthcare ecosystem.
You will build fullstack solutions integrating with enterprise EHR systems and national health information exchange frameworks. Key responsibilities include designing secure, scalable systems; building healthcare data integrations using FHIR (RESTful APIs/JSON) and HL7 v2 messaging for compliant, real-time data exchange; developing identity resolution and patient matching capabilities using identifiers like MRNs and NPIs; partnering with Engineering, Security, Product, and Health Information Management teams to implement compliant, audit-ready workflows; and collaborating with external vendors (e.g., Epic Technical Services) to troubleshoot integration issues and manage deployments across testing and production environments.
Success is measured by successful delivery and stability of FHIR/HL7 integrations, reduction in data integrity issues, high system uptime, and audit readiness for regulated workflows.
You bring 6+ years of fullstack software engineering experience building scalable web applications and APIs. You have demonstrated proficiency in healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR REST/JSON, HL7 v2), experience navigating national health information exchange frameworks (TEFCA, QHINs, Carequality), and practical experience integrating with enterprise EHR systems, ideally Epic. You can manage secure API authentication, service accounts, and audited system-to-system communication. You have experience promoting software across tiered clinical environments (TST/PRD) and knowledge of high-assurance identity standards (NIST IAL2), biometric validation, and document verification workflows. Familiarity with regulated healthcare security requirements is essential.
Tech stack: Python, React, TypeScript, AWS cloud.
