We're seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join the Onboarding team, which owns one of the most critical moments in Clara's customer journey: the transition from sign-up to first transaction. This team manages KYB/KYC flows, document collection and verification, identity validation, and account activation across multiple Latin American countries, each with distinct regulatory requirements.
The role is genuinely fullstack with a backend-heavy emphasis. You'll design and build backend services powering the onboarding engine, including sign-up flows, verification orchestration, and account activation. You'll contribute to the frontend by building intuitive, responsive interfaces that simplify complex compliance processes. You'll own integrations with external identity verification, document validation, and business data providers, abstracting their complexity behind clean internal APIs.
You'll collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Risk, and Compliance to translate regulatory requirements into great product experiences. The team moves fast and trusts engineers to own outcomes end-to-end, with autonomy to make decisions and drive initiatives to completion. You'll apply AI tools to ship faster and improve team workflows, and elevate the team through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
Required: 5+ years of production software engineering experience. Strong foundation in Java and Spring ecosystem (Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Batch) with genuine appetite to deepen frontend skills (React). Comfortable architecting scalable distributed systems and microservices for financial products. Solid data modeling experience with PostgreSQL and Redis. Experience building and securing RESTful APIs and integrations with third-party providers, including async/event-driven patterns (Kafka). Familiarity with AWS and modern dev tooling. Track record of mentoring engineers and raising quality standards. Fluent English for leading technical discussions across geographies. High autonomy, ownership mindset, and active use of AI tools in daily work.
