Clara is a fast-growing fintech company serving Latin America, providing payment solutions, corporate cards, bill pay, and financing to over 20,000 businesses. The company is backed by top-tier investors including Kaszek, Monashees, Coatue, and General Catalyst.
You'll join the Integrations team, responsible for connecting Clara's financial platform to the ecosystem of ERPs, banks, payment processors, and enterprise systems across Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia. This is a genuine fullstack role where you'll design and build integrations, pipelines, and APIs that reliably move financial data across dozens of third-party connections.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, build, and maintain backend integrations with payment processors, ERP platforms, and financial infrastructure providers
- Architect scalable, secure, and observable services handling sensitive financial data
- Build frontend interfaces when needed—internal tooling, integration dashboards, configuration UIs
- Leverage AI tools to automate workflows, accelerate delivery, and close skill gaps throughout the development lifecycle
- Set technical standards through code reviews, architectural guidance, and mentorship of junior and mid-level engineers
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Data teams to translate complex requirements into reliable solutions
- Identify and address tech debt that creates operational risk or slows delivery
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years backend software development experience, with 1–2 years working full stack
- Strong software architecture and system design skills with proven ability to build scalable, resilient systems
- Strong proficiency in backend languages (Java/Spring Boot preferred)
- Good frontend knowledge in React or similar frameworks
- Demonstrated use of AI tools (Claude, Devin, n8n) throughout the development process
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and English proficiency
Nice-to-have experience includes AWS, Metabase, Databricks, SQL, Python, and fintech/payments/banking backgrounds.
