You will join as a Forward-deployed Engineer, sitting at the intersection of Product Engineering and Go-To-Market teams. You'll be embedded directly with partners and customers to ship integrations rapidly, owning the full integration lifecycle from qualification through handoff. This is a hands-on technical role where you write real code, shape integration frameworks, and feed learnings back into the platform.
Key responsibilities include: owning the complete integration lifecycle for partners requiring hands-on delivery support; running Phase 0 qualification assessments to map systems, data flows, and risk surfaces; building and configuring integration connectors using Clara's framework; coordinating directly with partner technical teams as the primary technical contact; partnering with Platform/API squads to leverage core primitives; ensuring integrations meet Clara's standards for idempotency, observability, secrets management, and testing; delivering clean handoffs with runbooks and dashboards; and feeding patterns back into the platform for reuse.
You must have 4+ years of backend software development experience with hands-on exposure to API integrations, webhooks, and data mapping. Deep fluency in integration patterns (REST, event-driven architectures, OAuth, idempotency) is essential. You should be comfortable moving fast in ambiguous environments, qualifying and scoping new requests within days. Strong proficiency in backend languages (preferably Java) and comfort across multiple tech stacks is required. Working knowledge of observability fundamentals and experience using AI tools as force multipliers is expected. You must be fluent in English plus either Spanish or Portuguese, with excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Nice-to-have qualifications include fintech or payments experience, familiarity with PCI/PII compliance, AWS/Kafka experience, and proficiency in all three languages (Portuguese, Spanish, English).
