Applied Intuition Defence, a subsidiary of Applied Intuition (a $15B AI company), is seeking the first dedicated fullstack engineer for its London-based team. You will own the design and delivery of user-facing products for next-generation autonomous capabilities serving national security customers across air, land, sea, and space.
In this role, you will take products from concept through production, building features end-to-end from interface through API to backend services. You'll set the front-end foundations for UK products—establishing shared components, design patterns, and a design language consistent with the broader Applied Intuition platform. You'll collaborate closely with designers and product managers, translating field learnings from live programmes into improvements across the wider product roadmap.
Key responsibilities include: owning technical and product decisions; building secure, production-grade software for defence environments; establishing best practices for user-facing software architecture; and deciding when capabilities should stand alone versus integrate into core offerings. You'll work across TypeScript, Go, and Python, moving fluidly between layers as problems demand.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's in computer science or related field; 5+ years shipping and supporting production web applications; deep expertise in React and TypeScript (or equivalent modern framework); strong opinions on building interfaces for data-heavy workflows; experience with designers and product managers; command of application security; Docker and containerised Linux environments.
Nice-to-have skills include 7+ years fullstack experience with senior front-end architecture leadership; 3D/geospatial visualisation (CesiumJS, Three.js, WebGL); design system experience; Kubernetes deployment; autonomy/robotics/simulation systems; national security project background.
You must have the ability to hold UK Security Clearance (current or previous preferred). General willingness to travel between offices and customer sites is required. Applied Intuition operates primarily in-office (5 days/week) with flexibility for occasional remote work.
