Stay22 is a Montreal-based fintech/commerce platform that helps creators and digital platforms monetize their traffic. The company powers over 6,500 creators and platforms with more than $1 billion in annual transactions, and is expanding beyond travel into retail, lifestyle, publishing, events, and transport.
As a Senior Fullstack Developer, you will serve as a technical leader within a multidisciplinary squad, owning end-to-end design, development, and deployment of critical product initiatives. You will bridge complex backend logic with intuitive user experiences, working across Node.js, Python, and TypeScript on the backend and React on the frontend.
Key responsibilities include:
**End-to-End Product Engineering**: Lead fullstack feature design and implementation, ensuring seamless integration between server logic and client interfaces. Design and optimize database schemas (PostgreSQL and MongoDB) for data integrity, performance, and scalability at high traffic volumes. Write maintainable, high-quality code emphasizing simplicity and long-term robustness.
**Technical Leadership & Quality**: Drive technical decision-making through rigorous design documents and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs). Promote engineering best practices including code reviews, automated testing (TDD/BDD), and efficient CI/CD workflows. Proactively identify and address technical debt while balancing speed and system stability.
**Collaboration & Mentoring**: Mentor junior and mid-level developers with constructive feedback and foster continuous learning. Work closely with product managers and designers to assess technical feasibility, discuss trade-offs, and shape product roadmaps. Collaborate with Platform and Data teams to ensure solutions meet organizational standards for security, observability, and data governance.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent professional experience). 6+ years of software development experience with proven track record deploying fullstack applications to production. Deep expertise in server-side development (Node.js and/or Python), advanced TypeScript and React proficiency, solid relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) database experience. Experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code. Strong ability to decompose complex requirements into concrete technical plans, excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and user-centric approach to problem-solving.
