Scale's Global Public Sector team is building AI solutions to address critical challenges facing governments worldwide. The team focuses on creating custom AI applications, generating high-quality training data for custom LLMs, and providing upskilling and advisory services.
As a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (Forward Deployed), you will work directly with public sector clients to design, build, and deploy production-grade AI applications. This is a hybrid role based in Doha, Qatar, with expectations to spend up to two weeks per month on-site at client offices for feedback, delivery, and troubleshooting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with government clients to scope requirements, gather feedback, and implement solutions for complex problems
- Architecting and building production-grade full-stack applications that integrate AI models with modern frameworks, from interactive UIs to backend APIs and infrastructure
- Deploying and managing cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS/GCP) with focus on system integrity, security, scalability, and reliability
- Contributing to core platform features designed for reuse across diverse international client use cases
- Collaborating with design, product, and data teams to ensure robust, well-architected applications
- Working directly within customer infrastructure to deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot end-to-end solutions
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field
- 5+ years of post-graduation full-stack engineering experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in React (required), TypeScript, Next.js, Python, Node.js, PostgreSQL/MongoDB
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and major cloud platforms
- Proven ability to architect scalable, production-grade applications
- Self-starting approach with technical maturity to navigate ambiguous requirements
- Strong async communication skills
Nice-to-have qualifications include Arabic proficiency, prior forward-deployed or customer engineer experience, cross-functional operations experience, and LLM/Gen AI expertise.
