Salary: USD 130,000 - 140,000 / annual
Circle is a fully remote, globally distributed platform enabling creators, coaches, educators, and businesses to build all-in-one community spaces with discussions, live streams, events, chat, courses, and payments under their own brand. The company has ~200 team members across 30+ countries and brings the entire team together twice yearly for company offsites in destinations worldwide.
You'll join the Discover team to build and evolve Circle's curated marketplace—a product surface that helps members explore, discover, and join digital experiences including communities, courses, and memberships. The role focuses on building polished, high-converting purchasing experiences and algorithmic recommendation systems that help members find value in community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building high-converting purchasing experiences and seamless discovery flows
- Working autonomously on full-stack applications using Ruby on Rails (backend) and React/Next.js (frontends)
- Implementing Next.js best practices including SSR/SSG, routing, and performance optimization
- Proactively improving codebase quality, processes, and architecture
- Collaborating closely with product leaders and designers throughout the feature design process
- Fostering a bias for action, prioritizing iteration speed without compromising code or UX quality
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years as a full-stack engineer on complex, high-scale web applications (100k+ rpm, 100GB+ databases)
- Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails, MySQL/PostgreSQL, ReactJS, TypeScript, Next.js, and Tailwind
- Comfortable with ambiguity in fast-paced environments and learning new technologies as needed
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills (CEFR C2 / ILR Level 5)
- Experience working on fully distributed remote teams

Bonus experience: creator platforms, social content/video feeds, marketplaces, A/B testing and experimentation, search/recommendation/personalization at scale, production Next.js experience.
