Salary: USD 196,000 - 220,500 / annual
Discord is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join the Developer Success team, which builds tools enabling game developers to integrate Discord into their games and communities. You'll work on high-impact projects spanning APIs, the Discord app, developer portal, realtime infrastructure, and C++ SDKs—whatever is needed to deliver value to millions of developers and users.
In this role, you will deliver high-quality, scalable projects that unlock new capabilities for game developers. You'll collaborate with engineers on your team to write, review, and ship elegant code used by millions. You'll lead projects through their full lifecycle: gathering requirements, breaking down work into milestones, building, and shipping. You'll listen to and work with game developer partners to understand their needs and improve our tools, potentially joining partner meetings with Solutions Engineers or working with the DevRel team. You'll work cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and partner managers to navigate ambiguity and find the best path forward. You'll maintain performance and reliability standards for features and continuously raise the quality bar of the software you write.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of professional experience as a software engineer
- Experience with parts of Discord's tech stack: primarily Python and TypeScript/React, but also comfortable with Elixir, Rust, or C++; ability to switch across stacks or learn new ones
- Experience building software that leverages large data-based applications; data is central to supporting developer partners
- Product and design sense; ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional peers and express opinions to make something great
- Holistic approach to problem-solving; solving from first principles rather than shipping quick solutions; learning from mistakes and working through obstacles with the team
- Active use of AI coding tools to accelerate productivity
