Arc is electrifying the marine industry by rethinking powertrains, software, and vessel designs from first principles. The company has proven its core technology with consumer products and is now scaling production while expanding into commercial applications (tugs, ferries, defense) with signed contracts and a robust pipeline.
As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, you will design, build, test, and deploy customer-facing applications across the boat infotainment systems, mobile app, and website—covering frontend, backend, and infrastructure. You'll work closely with the product team to develop boundary-pushing user experiences, develop internal tools to improve manufacturing processes, and identify opportunities to use software to accelerate the company's trajectory.
You'll report to the Director of Software and operate in a lean, high-trust environment where everyone takes ownership of their domain. The role is based in Torrance, CA at Arc's factory, with a preference for in-person work, though exceptional remote candidates willing to travel regularly may be considered.
Minimum qualifications include 6+ years of industry experience covering both frontend and backend, strong fundamentals in software engineering with a passion for high-quality maintainable code, and excellent interpersonal skills. Bonus qualifications include experience with TypeScript, Python, and/or Rust; AWS or GCP; software in hardware domains (embedded, mobile, IoT, infotainment); and enthusiasm for boating and clean energy.
