Salary: USD 130,000 - 140,000 / annual
Circle is building an all-in-one platform for online communities, enabling creators, coaches, educators, and businesses to host discussions, live streams, events, chat, courses, and payments under their own brand. The company is fully remote with ~200 team members across 30+ countries.
The AI Core team is spearheading the integration of large language models (LLMs) into Circle's product. You will be a full-stack engineer responsible for shipping end-to-end AI solutions, working across Ruby on Rails backend, React frontend, and infrastructure layers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ship full-stack AI projects end-to-end, from design through production deployment
- Design and run experiments (A/B tests, AI evaluations) to validate features and measure impact
- Build and integrate AI infrastructure components, optimizing for performance and reliability at production scale
- Improve processes and tools to scale AI features into production-ready solutions
- Stay current with cutting-edge AI research, techniques, and tools
- Collaborate closely with leadership and design throughout the feature development process
- Prioritize speed of iteration and experimentation while maintaining code quality and user experience
You will work on projects including AI agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, AI evaluations and observability, and LLM inference infrastructure.
The role requires 6+ years of full-stack engineering experience on high-traffic production applications, with demonstrated ability to handle scaling challenges like query optimization, migrations, and performance bottlenecks. You must have strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails, MySQL/PostgreSQL, and ReactJS, though deep expertise in both frontend and backend is not required. Critically, you need hands-on production experience building AI features—shipped RAG systems, AI agents, or LLM-powered tools, not just prototypes. A strong experimentation mindset, comfort with ambiguity, and ability to learn new technologies quickly are essential.
