Discord is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join its Ads team, which is revolutionizing how users interact with the platform through innovative ad formats like Quests. The role combines backend and frontend development to build products that deliver value to users, advertisers, and Discord itself.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building end-to-end ads products from backend to frontend, focusing on user-facing rewards and engagement
- Developing platforms that enable advertisers and operations teams to manage ad campaigns effectively
- Making architectural improvements to enhance long-term system maintainability and scalability
- Collaborating with engineers, product managers, and designers to create polished, user-centric products
- Leveraging analytics and experimentation frameworks to optimize ad product performance
- Staying current with emerging industry technologies
Required qualifications:
- 4+ years of full-stack development experience with hands-on proficiency in TypeScript, React, Python, or equivalent technologies
- Strong commitment to excellence: solving problems thoroughly rather than shipping quick fixes, with meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent collaboration skills with transparent communication about project progress, challenges, and successes
- Growth mindset that treats mistakes as learning opportunities and drives continuous improvement
