FlixBus is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Kotlin) to join the Supply Division team in Berlin. You will drive innovation in station management and inventory systems that enable FlixBus station managers to scale operations across a growing global network, directly improving the experience for millions of passengers.
In this role, you will take ownership of roadmap epics as a technical topic driver, aligning technical requirements and solutions across the team with the product owner. You'll work closely with business stakeholders to continuously develop and improve the product vision, always keeping business value in mind when making technical decisions. You'll drive the development process in an agile environment, collaborating closely with team members through pair programming, ensemble programming, code reviews, testing, and operations.
You will frequently deliver new product versions using continuous integration and delivery practices. The tech stack includes Kotlin for both server and browser development, JVM frameworks (Ktor, Axon Framework), component-based frontend development (Compose HTML), distributed system architecture (Apache Kafka, HTTP/REST), and infrastructure tooling (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Datadog, GitLab).
You bring 5+ years of software engineering experience, primarily in backend development with JVM languages. You have solid front-end skills with modern frameworks and are willing to work with Kotlin. You're comfortable with or eager to learn cutting-edge technologies and can work confidently in a self-organized, cross-functional, distributed team environment.
