Cohere is a leading enterprise AI company building cutting-edge foundation models and end-to-end products for businesses. The Data Abstractions & Tools team within North (Cohere's AI workspace platform) is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to own the systems that enable users to bring data into the platform and operationalize it.
You will design, build, and ship features across the full stack for critical roadmap surfaces: large-scale file upload and management, shared knowledge bases, the agent extensibility framework (skills and integrations), and the enterprise data-sync pipeline that connects external data sources to North's agents.
Key responsibilities include owning features end-to-end from technical design through implementation, testing, launch, and iteration. You'll write minimal, efficient code that runs in low-resource environments with stringent deployment and security constraints—sometimes reinventing solutions rather than relying on popular libraries. You'll collaborate closely with Product, UX, and the modeling team to validate requirements and prototype quickly, while raising the engineering bar through patterns, testing discipline, code review, and mentoring.
You should have shipped substantial fullstack code (Python and React) in production, excel in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities, and think like a product owner. Experience building and deploying performant client-side or server-side RAG/agentic applications at scale is highly valued. You'll use AI actively in your work while maintaining accountability for quality and reliability.
Cohere is remote-friendly with offices in Toronto, London, NYC, San Francisco, Montreal, Paris, Berlin, and Seoul. The role offers flexibility to work remotely or from an office location with no minimum in-office requirement, though EU-based candidates are expected for timezone alignment.
