Prose is a custom beauty company that uses AI-powered personalization to create made-to-order hair and skin care products. The company operates with in-house R&D teams of chemists and dermatologists, manufacturing facilities in NYC and LA, and has achieved profitability with $165M+ revenue in 2024.
As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, you'll design, build, and ship systems powering Singular, Prose's proprietary AI-driven platform that handles everything from customer consultations and e-commerce to manufacturing workflows. You'll work on a deliberately compact, senior engineering team where every engineer owns broad scope and ships continuously.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and shipping features end-to-end across Python/Django backend services and React frontend applications
- Owning quality through automated testing, peer review, observability, and production monitoring
- Contributing to architecture evolution, including domain boundaries, data schemas, and event-driven patterns
- Advancing AI implementation across the tech organization as a core development practice
- Collaborating with product, design, data, and operations teams on features spanning checkout conversion to factory throughput
- Mentoring engineers and raising team standards through design and code review
You'll need 5+ years of professional software engineering with significant production experience on both backend and frontend. Strong Python/Django expertise is essential, along with modern React and JavaScript/TypeScript skills. You should understand scalable application design principles, write clean maintainable code, and be fluent with AI-assisted engineering workflows. Cloud-native experience (GCP, Docker, CI/CD) and a pragmatic, autonomous mindset are required. B2C, e-commerce, or manufacturing experience is a plus. English fluency is required.
