Limbic is an AI-augmented mental health platform deployed at scale in the UK's NHS Talking Therapies and expanding into the US market. The company's mission is to make high-quality therapy accessible to everyone by responsibly deploying AI to augment clinical care and reduce barriers to access.
As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, you will design, build, and ship end-to-end features that patients and clinicians depend on daily. You'll work across the full stack: implementing TypeScript/Node.js backend services compliant with data residency and regulatory standards, building React user interfaces for both patient-facing and clinician-facing products, modeling application data using PostgreSQL and MongoDB with compliance best practices, and integrating features with ML/AI services and safety guardrails.
Beyond execution, you'll shape product decisions by contributing to what gets built, challenging requirements when they don't serve users, and measuring the impact of your work. You'll treat security, data residency, and compliance as first-class concerns given the sensitive patient and clinical data context. You'll collaborate cross-functionally to integrate features smoothly, participate in code reviews, contribute to engineering standards, and triage alerts for error monitoring.
The role requires 4+ years of professional full-stack engineering experience with strong TypeScript and Node.js ability (GraphQL and tRPC familiarity preferred), solid React experience building production web applications, and comfort with both PostgreSQL and document/KV databases. You should have production AWS experience, CI/CD pipeline proficiency (GitHub Actions), and Git fluency. Experience with queue-based systems (BullMQ + Redis), regulated/security-sensitive environments (healthcare, fintech), and React Native are bonuses. You must maintain North American business hours (Eastern preferred) with daily overlap with European colleagues (UTC to UTC+3), and the company cannot provide visa sponsorship.
