Gritt is an intelligent robotics and AI system that autonomously performs labor-intensive tasks on construction sites, starting with large-scale solar installations. The company combines robotics expertise from Carnegie Mellon, Stanford, and MIT with AI capabilities, backed by leading VCs including Obvious Ventures, Union Square Ventures, and First Round Capital.
As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will own the software layer connecting robots to operators and customers. You'll design and build full-stack applications from prototype to production deployment on active construction sites, working across frontend, backend, and deployment infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and build full-stack cloud applications for robot fleet monitoring and control
- Develop internal and customer-facing tools for command, control, monitoring, and analytics
- Build scalable backend services and APIs ingesting large-scale streaming and historical data from robot deployments
- Develop real-time frontend interfaces for robotics visualization, including 3D spatial views of robot state
- Work with high-volume live video and telemetry streams for remote oversight
- Design data pipelines for large-scale ingestion, storage, and querying of fleet and sensor data
- Build and integrate agentic tools and workflows for automated anomaly detection and AI-assisted decision support
- Improve reliability, scalability, and observability across distributed systems
- Debug field issues and document work for team adoption
Required qualifications: BS/MS in CS, Robotics, or related field (or equivalent); 6+ years building production-grade cloud applications and backend systems; strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript/JavaScript with React or similar framework; experience with large-scale data infrastructure (streaming pipelines, message queues, distributed data stores); experience with agentic AI systems, LLM-based tooling, or autonomous decision-making pipelines; cloud infrastructure experience (AWS/GCP/Azure); proven ability to deliver complete software products from requirements through field support; comfortable with ownership and clear communication.
Nice-to-have: robotics/physical AI familiarity, physical AI data experience, Rust or Go proficiency.
