Firestorm is building the future of expeditionary defense manufacturing and autonomous systems. The company develops mission-adaptable aerial systems and deployable manufacturing infrastructure (xCell microfactory) designed to rapidly deploy defense capabilities at the point of need.
As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will own end-to-end application development for the manufacturing software platform. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with significant domain complexity. You will ship features used daily by technicians, supervisors, engineers, and quality teams on the factory floor.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own features end-to-end from product brief to production: data model, API, frontend, tests, and rollout
- Design and evolve the core domain model covering work orders, engineering changes, effectivity, and defect records
- Build React interfaces optimized for factory floor operators, not just web browsers
- Write and review Postgres schemas and migrations; ensure data integrity across schema evolution
- Partner with product, design, and manufacturing stakeholders to translate operational needs into shipped software
- Contribute to architectural decisions and raise standards on testing, observability, and operational excellence
Required qualifications: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent; U.S. citizenship (ITAR requirement); 5+ years full-stack engineering with production systems at scale; strong proficiency in TypeScript, React, and Node.js backends; deep experience with relational databases (Postgres preferred) and ORMs (Prisma preferred); track record of shipping production-quality features; ability to reason about complex domain models.
Preferred: prior experience with manufacturing, supply chain, ERP/MES/PLM software; familiarity with Docker and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure); experience with observability tools (Datadog, Grafana, OpenTelemetry); background in both startup and scale-stage product engineering.
Based in San Diego, CA headquarters. Relocation assistance available.
