Veeam Software is hiring a founding engineer and technical lead for a portfolio of AI-assisted learning and enablement tools. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for architecture, development, infrastructure, and mentoring as the team grows. You'll partner closely with subject-matter experts and instructional designers to ensure the platform is secure, scalable, and maintainable.
Key responsibilities include owning cross-project architecture (data models, authentication, access control, logging, deployment), setting and enforcing code review and architectural standards, building and maintaining async Python services over PostgreSQL, owning CI/CD and DevOps processes, managing infrastructure (databases, VMs, storage, backups, observability), developing a governed data-to-content pipeline for AI-driven knowledge generation, implementing cybersecurity and responsible AI controls, and mentoring team members as the organization grows.
Required qualifications: at least 5 years of strong async Python and modern web framework experience, PostgreSQL data modeling and optimization, modern HTML/CSS/JavaScript (ES modules), web security expertise (OIDC/OAuth2, JWT, RBAC), API design for scalable HTTP/JSON services, Git and CI/CD expertise, experience integrating LLM APIs and handling structured outputs, experience parsing structured/unstructured content (PDF, DOCX, HTML), comfort with databases, object storage, and Git, Docker/Linux/Bash fundamentals, interest in AI pipeline evaluation and observability, and a strong learning mindset.
Bonus skills include C#/.NET/PowerShell (review level), Node.js for tooling and document generation, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), Model Context Protocol (MCP), and programmatic document/presentation generation. This is a greenfield AI platform opportunity with high autonomy and an AI-native workflow. Applicants must be permanently located in Romania.
