Pebl is a global work platform that enables companies to hire, pay, and manage employees across 185+ countries. The company processes over a billion dollars in cross-border payroll and invoicing annually, serving as the backbone for global employment compliance and payments.
You'll join the Invoicing & Payments domain as a Senior Frontend Engineer, taking ownership of the user experience for critical financial workflows. The team is primarily backend-focused but needs a frontend expert to elevate the UX for complex payment and invoicing systems. Your work will transform traditionally frustrating financial forms and dashboards into intuitive, delightful experiences.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and build new features enabling users to engage with paychecks through various financial means
- Enhance UX for financial information collection and monetary account management
- Integrate third-party payment vendors to expand Pebl's capabilities
- Improve invoice experiences with rich data and insights
- Establish frontend best practices and standards for the domain
- Serve as the frontend expert voice in a primarily fullstack/backend team
You'll work closely with product, design, and backend engineers to navigate the full stack from database to infrastructure. The role requires in-office collaboration Monday-Wednesday in Palo Alto.
Ideal candidates have 8+ years of frontend/UX engineering experience, with 1+ years in invoicing/financial systems or 2+ years building complex forms and dashboards. Strong React/TypeScript skills are essential, along with understanding of backend integration, API design, and full-stack architecture. Experience with AWS, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes is valued. You should be comfortable working across the entire stack while maintaining frontend excellence, with a "strong opinions, held loosely" mindset focused on iterative customer impact and reliable, future-proof code.
