You will join the Invoicing & Payments domain as a Senior Frontend Engineer, taking ownership of the user experience for critical financial workflows. This is a primarily backend-focused team with fullstack capabilities, and you'll be the frontend voice of expertise, establishing best practices and standards for the domain.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and build new features enabling users to engage with payroll through various financial means
- Enhance and reimagine the UX for financial information collection and account management
- Build seamless third-party integrations with payment vendors
- Sharpen the customer invoice experience to provide rich data and insights
- Establish and standardize frontend best practices for the invoicing and payments domain, creating clean, reusable code and documentation
- Serve as the frontend expert voice in a primarily fullstack and backend-focused team
You'll work closely with product and design to transform complex banking forms and invoice dashboards into intuitive, delightful experiences. The role requires balancing simplicity and reliability while making clear-eyed tradeoffs for business impact. You'll collaborate with engineers across the stack, from frontend through database and infrastructure.
This is a hybrid role requiring in-office collaboration Monday–Wednesday in the Palo Alto, CA office.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of professional frontend/UX software engineering experience
- 1+ years building frontends and API frameworks for invoicing or financial systems, OR 2+ years building frontends in domains with complex forms and dashboards
- Strong command of modern frontend (React/TypeScript) with solid understanding of frontend-backend integration and APIs
- Thorough understanding of frontend best practice design patterns and frameworks; ability to dictate best practices for the team
- Proven experience translating wireframes and mockups into reusable, scalable, intuitive frontend code alongside designers and product managers
- Experience with complex forms (country-specific or use-case-specific form generation/validation) is a major plus
- Experience with AWS, PostgreSQL or similar RDBMS, and Kubernetes; comfort working across the full stack (backend, infra) is critical
- While 80–90% of work is frontend and API, this is not a pure frontend role
