Seeq is seeking a Senior Frontend Infrastructure Engineer to lead the evolution of its frontend system, focusing on React infrastructure, state management, design systems, and reusable application patterns for a complex enterprise product. This role shapes the frontend foundations that teams use to build clear, consistent, high-quality experiences across data-dense workflows.
You will improve component quality, consistency, usability, and developer experience across the product. You'll leverage the open-source ecosystem (Zustand, TanStack Query, StyleX) with judgment and taste, extending and adapting tools to fit Seeq's standards. You'll ensure refactors maintain an exceptionally high bar for quality and completeness, partnering closely with teams to roll out changes smoothly.
You understand that AI is changing both product interfaces and how they are built. You have experience or strong interest in building systems that enable AI-driven development by codifying best practices that agents can follow.
You are an exceptional frontend engineer with strong product sense, visual taste, and systems thinking. You collaborate effectively through code review, pairing, and clear communication. You are product- and user-focused, engaging with customers and other teams to articulate feature rationale and pain points. You bring strong ownership and agency, finding gaps and driving improvements through to completion.
Seeq is a remote-first company founded by serial entrepreneurs, providing software solutions for converting industrial process data into meaningful business insights. The team is collaborative, kind-hearted, and talented, certified as a great place to work.
**Requirements:**
- Minimum 5 years professional software development experience with a solid record of designing, building, and evolving complex systems over years
- Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and HTML primitives
- Demonstrated experience designing, building, or significantly evolving shared frontend systems (design systems, component libraries, state-management architecture, styling systems, or reusable application frameworks)
- Strong understanding of modern frontend architecture including state management, server/client data flow, component composition, rendering behavior, and application performance
- Experience building reusable frontend components and patterns with careful attention to API design, accessibility, responsiveness, styling architecture, usability, and long-term maintainability
- Experience leading or contributing significantly to large-scale frontend refactors, migrations, or adoption of new architectural patterns across production applications
- Strong judgment in evaluating and adopting open-source frontend technologies, with ability to extend existing tools rather than defaulting to custom solutions
- Ability to diagnose root causes of complex frontend defects and performance issues
- Experience creating clear technical documentation, conventions, and examples that help other engineers adopt shared systems
- Ability to influence technical direction beyond your own feature area through design reviews, code reviews, pairing, mentoring, and cross-team collaboration
- Strong product sense and ability to partner with designers and product teams to create clear, consistent experiences across complex workflows
- Ability to build responsive, scalable web experiences across devices and partner with designers to ensure visual consistency
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, remote environment
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and tools (Scrum or Kanban)
- At Staff level: demonstrated experience setting frontend technical direction or creating shared architectural patterns adopted by multiple engineers or teams
