Seeq is seeking a Senior Frontend Infrastructure Engineer to lead the evolution of its frontend system for a complex enterprise product focused on industrial process data analytics. This is a systems-level role where you will shape React infrastructure, state management, design systems, and reusable application patterns that teams across the company depend on. You will improve component quality, consistency, usability, and developer experience across the product. The role involves staying ahead of how AI is changing both product interfaces and development practices—you'll help codify best practices that AI agents can follow effectively. You'll leverage best-in-class open-source tools (Zustand, TanStack Query, StyleX) with judgment, extending them where needed rather than building from scratch. You'll partner closely with product and design teams to ensure refactors and new patterns are rolled out smoothly and maintain an exceptionally high bar for quality, since changes have far-reaching impact across teams. Key responsibilities include: - Leading the evolution of frontend systems and infrastructure - Designing and shipping production design systems or component libraries - Building composable, accessible, robust, and ergonomic systems for other engineers - Collaborating through code review, pairing, and clear communication - Engaging with customers and teams to understand pain points and articulate rationale - Creating clear technical documentation and conventions - Influencing technical direction through design reviews and cross-team collaboration - Diagnosing root causes of complex frontend defects and performance issues - Driving large-scale frontend refactors and architectural migrations Seeq is a remote-first company founded by serial entrepreneurs, with a mission to help industrial companies extract business insight from process data. The team is collaborative, kind-hearted, and certified as a great place to work. REQUIREMENTS: - Minimum 5 years professional software development experience with a solid record of designing and evolving complex systems over years - Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and HTML primitives - Demonstrated experience designing, building, or significantly evolving shared frontend systems (design systems, component libraries, state-management architecture, styling systems, or reusable application frameworks) - Strong understanding of modern frontend architecture including state management, server/client data flow, component composition, rendering behavior, and application performance - Experience building reusable frontend components and patterns with careful attention to API design, accessibility, responsiveness, styling architecture, usability, and maintainability - Experience leading or contributing significantly to large-scale frontend refactors, migrations, or adoption of new architectural patterns in production applications - Strong judgment in evaluating and adopting open-source frontend technologies, with ability to extend existing tools rather than defaulting to custom solutions - Ability to diagnose root causes of complex frontend defects and performance issues - Experience creating clear technical documentation, conventions, and examples for shared systems adoption - Ability to influence technical direction beyond your own feature area through design reviews, code reviews, pairing, mentoring, and cross-team collaboration - Strong product sense and ability to partner with designers and product teams on clear, consistent experiences across complex workflows - Ability to build responsive, scalable web experiences across devices - Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail - Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional, remote environment - Familiarity with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) - At Staff level: demonstrated experience setting frontend technical direction or creating shared architectural patterns adopted by multiple engineers or teams
