The Streaming team owns the full-stack infrastructure powering video experience for 1.4M Verkada cameras, handling complex challenges around live and recorded video delivery with speed, reliability, and security. As a Senior Frontend Engineer on this team, you will own the web frontend streaming experience, ensuring seamless video playback with industry-leading reliability and security.
Key responsibilities include: leading development of core frontend features across the dashboard, video playback, and device management experiences; partnering with designers and product managers to deliver intuitive, high-polish user experiences; driving technical decisions around architecture, frameworks, performance, and best practices; mentoring junior engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing; collaborating with backend, infrastructure, and cross-functional teams to deliver efficient, scalable experiences; and continuously improving UI performance, accessibility, and maintainability.
You bring 4+ years of experience building and shipping production web applications, strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks like React, solid understanding of web fundamentals (HTML, CSS, DOM APIs, browser performance, accessibility), experience building scalable frontend architectures, and passion for great design and usability. Bonus experience includes video streaming, codecs (H.264), real-time data, or playback technologies like WebCodecs.
