OpenFX is building infrastructure to power next-generation cross-border payment systems for institutions, with a mission to move money as freely as data across time zones and legacy systems. The company is backed by top-tier investors (Accel, Lightspeed, NfX) and has assembled an exceptional team from JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, FalconX, PayPal, Affirm, Polygon, Kraken, and Nium. You will join as Staff Frontend Engineer for the Banking team, the senior-most individual contributor role owning the frontend platform and user experience for banking products. You will report to an Engineering Manager and collaborate closely with engineers, product, and design teams. Key responsibilities include: - Own the frontend technical direction for banking: onboarding flows, unified banking and payments experience, and banking product surfaces - Design and build a Banking frontend SDK with hooks and UI components, packaged for external integration with documentation and framework integrations - Shape the shared component library and micro-frontend architecture to maintain consistency across product surfaces - Define frontend coding standards and component patterns across the platform - Establish frontend observability and test-automation standards to catch regressions before customer impact - Mentor frontend engineers and help define hiring standards - Partner with product and design to translate complex flows into coherent user experiences This role requires deep expertise in frontend architecture, component and design systems, and state management at scale. You must have significant senior or staff-level experience owning complex production web applications, strong grasp of performance, accessibility, and correctness, and fluency in modern TypeScript and React stacks. Experience designing and shipping SDKs, working with micro-frontends or Module Federation, contract-driven frontend development, owning design systems, and building frontend observability are strong differentiators. Success means the banking frontend is fast, correct, and consistent; the Banking SDK is shipped and adopted by external integrators; product teams ship faster due to your component library and standards; regressions are caught in automation; and you've raised the technical ceiling of frontend engineering at OpenFX.
