Orkes is building the operating system for AI agents and workflows, providing infrastructure to move AI from conversation to real-world action. The platform, built on the open-source Conductor engine, orchestrates complex business processes at scale, handling billions of workflows while ensuring reliability and visibility. As a Senior Frontend Engineer (Full-Stack Capable), you will own the architecture of the Conductor workflow builder—a canvas where developers create and link complex agentic workflows—and mission-critical control plane tools used by SREs, Customer Success teams, and enterprise clients to manage and monitor clusters at scale. You will define how enterprises build, manage, and visualize AI-integrated work. You bring 7+ years of frontend experience with deep expertise in React and TypeScript, having architected state management, performance optimization, and component systems across applications. You have built genuinely hard UI—IDEs, real-time node-graph or canvas editors, or data-dense dashboards. You own UX and product judgment, shaping requirements rather than executing tickets. You drive cross-team frontend strategy around design systems and framework decisions. You are credible into API backends and BFFs, ideally microservices architecture, owning API contracts rather than just consuming them. You raise team craft standards in testing, accessibility, and performance budgeting. You have hands-on experience with AI-coding tools and understand how to prescribe specific actions versus asking AI to make judgment calls. Nice-to-have skills include dev-tooling background (IDEs like Cursor or VS Code, low-code/no-code platforms, graph-node tools), Next.js, Java/Spring Boot, data visualization libraries (D3, Recharts, Tremor), and strong design-tool fluency. This is a full-time, in-office role based in Santa Clara, CA, reporting to the Head of Engineering within Cloud & Platform Engineering. Compensation ranges from $180,000–$240,000 base salary depending on experience and leveling, plus generous equity.
