Tennr is a healthtech company solving a critical pain point in the U.S. healthcare system: the referral bottleneck. When patients are referred to specialists, the process stalls due to administrative overhead—providers spend weeks managing insurance paperwork instead of seeing patients. Tennr's proprietary platform automates this complex workflow, helping healthcare operators get patients the right care at the right time while ensuring providers get paid efficiently.
As Senior Frontend Engineer, you'll own the user-facing layer of this mission-critical system. You'll work closely with Product and Design to build performant, beautiful experiences for multiple personas: back-office admins managing referrals, referring providers submitting cases, and eventually patients themselves. You'll drive architectural decisions for a complex React application, take ownership of visual quality and pixel-perfect execution, and leverage strong design intuition to resolve ambiguity in a fast-moving startup.
Key responsibilities include architecting scalable frontend solutions, optimizing performance and accessibility, collaborating across product and design teams, and embracing a founder's mindset—proactively driving projects from conception through completion. You'll work 4 days/week in Tennr's Hudson Square office in Manhattan, with flexibility built in.
You bring 5+ years of frontend or full-stack experience with strong JavaScript, React, and TypeScript skills. You understand performance optimization and accessibility principles deeply, have shipped scalable web applications, and are comfortable using AI tools to accelerate prototyping and efficiency. You communicate complex technical concepts clearly, thrive in collaborative environments, and ideally have startup or high-velocity tech experience. A passion for great design and user experience is essential.
