Emidat is building the first climate-native product management system for building material manufacturers, aiming to decarbonize building materials which account for 11% of global GHG emissions. The company collects data from physical production processes, generates digital product passports with verified environmental data, and makes this information usable across the value chain.
As the first full-time Frontend Engineer, you will set the technical direction for the entire frontend codebase and architecture, establishing a foundation for high-quality frontend contributions at scale. You will own the full product loop—from discovery conversations and hypothesis formation through shipping and measurement. Your responsibilities include building out the capabilities of "Emigo," the company's home-grown AI assistant, and shipping agentic user interfaces that transform how customers interact with the platform.
In your first six months, you will take full ownership of complex, ambiguous projects; prototype and develop new applications from zero to one; own the component library including maintenance, documentation, and evangelization; mentor other engineers on system architecture and web fundamentals; and identify issues others don't see, turning them into actionable proposals.
You will partner closely with the Product Design team to evolve the design system and work with a small, experienced team including the CTO, Tech Leads, Product Manager, and Product Design Lead. The company has built a strong network of mentors from successful founders and CTOs at companies like Payworks, StashAway, and Eventbrite.
Tech stack: TypeScript and Python for languages; React for frontend; FastAPI and gRPC for backend; PostgreSQL and Redis for databases; Kubernetes, OpenTofu, OTel, AWS, and Azure for infrastructure; GitHub Actions, Docker, and FluxCD for CI/CD.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven track record of owning and driving impactful product initiatives end-to-end, with demonstrated Senior/Staff-level experience shaping frontend architecture and defining engineering standards
- Deep expertise in TypeScript with proficiency in scalable web application frameworks (React strongly preferred; Angular, Vue, or Svelte acceptable)
- Experience creating, maintaining, and contributing to design systems or component libraries
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-moving environments where priorities shift quickly, ideally from startup or scale-up experience
- Experience leveraging AI to accelerate product development
- Fluent English (C1+ level)
NICE TO HAVES:
- Domain knowledge or professional exposure to Climate/Sustainability, Construction Tech, Manufacturing, or Compliance sectors
- Experience creating agentic user interfaces
- Strong UI/UX judgment with understanding of best practices and anti-patterns
