You'll join a small, dynamic team building cloud-managed access control systems—Verkada's second major product line. The Access Control solution enables users to manage doors, schedules, and credentials from anywhere. This is a startup-within-a-startup environment with significant ownership and autonomy.
As Senior Frontend Engineer, you'll work alongside firmware, backend, and frontend engineers to develop and scale this product. You'll take less-than-fully-fleshed-out product ideas and drive them to completion, focusing on delivering best-in-class products and experiences rather than just features. You'll own major systems and technical decisions while learning new technologies and contributing your expertise to the team.
Required: 7+ years of software engineering experience, mastery of JavaScript (scoping, closures, contexts, prototypes, classes), expert-level React proficiency, strong architectural understanding of custom components and cross-browser support, eye for design and product polish, HTTP knowledge and practical debugging skills, working knowledge of at least one server-side framework and database system, and a CS or related engineering degree. Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week in San Mateo.
