Bitwarden is a trusted identity security platform serving millions of users worldwide with password management, secrets management, and passwordless innovations. As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer specializing in billing systems, you will lead the design and development of payment infrastructure powering Bitwarden's subscription services globally.
You'll own critical revenue-generating systems, architecting secure payment processing flows across web applications, APIs, and databases. Key responsibilities include designing and maintaining scalable billing and subscription management systems that process transactions for millions of users, implementing secure payment processing flows, leading integration of multiple payment provider APIs and webhooks for global payment methods, troubleshooting complex billing-related customer issues, and optimizing database performance for large transaction volumes.
You bring 6-10 years of software engineering experience with strong proficiency in C#/.NET for backend services and Angular/TypeScript for frontend development. You have deep expertise in relational database design, SQL Server optimization, and experience integrating with payment processors like Stripe, PayPal (Braintree), and Bitpay. You understand security best practices for handling sensitive payment information, can design and implement RESTful APIs, and demonstrate excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Experience with Rust, Node.js, Electron, open source, or startup environments is a plus.
This is a fully remote role with a US-based team. No visa sponsorship is available. You'll work with a motivated, supportive global team dedicated to building a more secure internet experience while contributing to open-source security innovation.
