Salary: USD 140,000 - 200,000 / annual
Bitwarden is seeking a Senior Front-End Software Engineer to join its autofill and form detection team. This role focuses on maintaining and improving critical browser extension features that enable seamless form filling and login detection across all browsers. You will become the technical authority on Bitwarden's autofill system, develop and maintain comprehensive browser UI automation tests, and continually enhance the autofill experience as new web UI patterns emerge.
The team is fully remote and based in North America. You will participate actively in code reviews, share technical knowledge with teammates, and occasionally contribute bug fixes from the user community. This is an individual contributor role with significant technical ownership and influence over a core product feature.

Key Responsibilities:
- Become an expert and authority on Bitwarden's browser extension autofill and form change detection systems
- Develop and maintain a full suite of browser UI automation tests
- Continually improve autofill and form detection as new UI patterns emerge
- Participate in code reviews and spread technical knowledge across the engineering team
- Occasionally contribute bug fixes submitted by the user community
Requirements:
- Deep understanding of browser UI behavior, including DOM manipulation and content scripts
- Proficiency in vanilla JavaScript and at least one modern framework (Angular preferred, or React/Vue)
- Understanding of browser extension development
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to find and communicate solutions
- Experience documenting complex technical solutions and conveying knowledge to engineering teams
- Proficiency with source control (Git, SVN, Subversion, TFS, or similar)
- Collaborative and adaptable mindset with excellent communication skills
- Passion for open source and internet security
