Bitwarden is a trusted identity security platform serving millions of users worldwide with password management, secrets management, and passwordless innovations. As a Senior Front-End Software Engineer on the Client Monorepo Platform team, you will support the entire engineering organization by building and maintaining shared interfaces to core browser and OS capabilities across Bitwarden's client portfolio (web, browser extension, desktop, CLI). Your responsibilities include building and maintaining the client monorepo build tooling, orchestration, and dependency packaging management to ensure teams can easily and reproducibly build and test changes. You'll ensure clients run securely across different platforms and operating systems while providing a consistent development experience, triage and resolve bugs reported by the community and customers, and update and validate core dependencies to maintain a secure and stable supply chain.
You bring extensive experience developing and supporting complex, cross-platform TypeScript clients, with hands-on experience developing and maintaining Electron-based applications. You're proficient with modern build and monorepo tools like Vite, nx, and pnpm, and can integrate them into sustainable and efficient development experiences. Knowledge of modern encryption techniques and secure development principles is a plus. You have a collaborative and adaptable mindset, excellent communication skills, and genuine enthusiasm for open source and internet security. You excel at problem-solving, knowing how to find and communicate solutions even when you don't have all the answers immediately.
