Salary: USD 170,000 - 190,000 / annual
Beacon Biosignals is transforming precision medicine for the brain through at-home EEG and cardiopulmonary signal platforms. The company serves two markets: a Life Sciences business offering clinical development tools for novel therapeutics targeting neurological, psychiatric, and sleep disorders, and a Diagnostics business building comprehensive at-home assessment platforms for sleep and CNS disorders.
As a Senior Front-end Engineer, you will be part of a small, mission-driven Web Apps Team building first-class web applications that power clinical study management, EEG data analytics, and physician diagnostic workflows. You'll develop React/TypeScript applications that help unlock insights into neurological and psychiatric disorders with the potential to improve patient outcomes at scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining React/TypeScript web applications for clinical and diagnostic use cases
- Designing and implementing UX workflows for clinical study management, data analytics, and patient diagnostics
- Owning the user experience, performance, reliability, and observability of features you develop
- Partnering with product designers and cross-functional teams to build user-centric capabilities for diverse personas (internal and external)
- Helping shape the roadmap and technical direction of web applications
In your first 3–6 months, you might build features for visualizing clinical trial insights, develop physician workflows for AI-generated diagnostic reports, enable study sites to manage participant enrollment, or deploy tools for Clinical Operations compliance tracking.
The role is 100% remote from anywhere in the U.S., with optional in-person office hubs in Boston and New York. Beacon emphasizes asynchronous work practices to support a first-class remote experience.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of front-end web development experience with React and TypeScript
- Experience developing data-rich applications with interactive visualization and large-scale data manipulation
- Strong product mindset with deep care for UX, edge cases, and performance
- Familiarity with GraphQL-based APIs and ability to build scalable consumers
- Proficiency identifying optimization bottlenecks using debuggers and code profiling tools
- Strong communication skills and comfort in collaborative, asynchronous environments
Bonus qualifications:
- Experience with clinical trial applications, patient-facing software, or regulated environments
- Background in EEG or digital signal processing (DSP)
- Back-end systems or infrastructure experience
- Open source contributions to React/TypeScript projects
