Radiant is building the world's first mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors. The company's flagship product, Kaleidos, is a 1-megawatt, fail-safe microreactor designed for rapid deployment to hospitals, data centers, remote sites, and military bases. Founded in 2020 and headquartered in El Segundo, CA, Radiant is preparing to test its first reactor at Idaho National Laboratory with initial customer deliveries planned for 2028.
As Senior FPGA Verification Engineer, you will lead verification efforts for FPGA designs used in reactor safety, control, and instrumentation systems. This is a safety-critical role requiring expertise in verifying complex, multi-domain systems that directly impact reactor operations and safety.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading FPGA verification from test plan development through coverage closure using SystemVerilog and UVM/OVM frameworks
- Developing and maintaining automated verification testbenches for functional, regression, constrained-random, and edge-case testing
- Defining verification strategies for sensor processing, serial communication (UART, SPI, I2C), and actuator handling logic
- Collaborating with RTL designers, hardware engineers, embedded software engineers, and test engineers to validate design intent and resolve bugs
- Recommending tools and practices to improve the FPGA verification flow
- Contributing to RTL design work as needed
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in computer or electrical engineering, 7+ years of FPGA verification experience with deep functional verification expertise, expert proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM-based methodologies, strong understanding of FPGA verification flows (simulation, coverage analysis, regression management), experience with multi-clock domain designs, and familiarity with serial communication protocols and buses (UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, AXIS, APB).
Desired qualifications include experience with Microchip PolarFire SoC, JASPER verification tools, Linux, and TCL/bash scripting. The role requires 100% onsite work at El Segundo headquarters and willingness to work extended hours as needed.
