4M Analytics is on a mission to map subsurface infrastructure and make real-time utility data accessible to the construction and infrastructure industry. The company has successfully built a business around Departments of Transportation (DOTs) and is now expanding into the Utility Owners segment. This is a hybrid, foundational product role combining classic product management with hands-on AI building.
As Senior Forward Deployed Product Manager, you will be the connective tissue between the market and product. You'll spend significant time with Utility Owner customers—conducting discovery calls, site visits, and workflow shadowing—to deeply understand their pain points and workflows. You'll synthesize this customer intelligence into a scalable product roadmap and productization strategy.
Key responsibilities include: running continuous discovery with customers to identify pain points and business drivers; mapping the market landscape and identifying the biggest opportunities; defining the go-to-market strategy for the Utility Owners segment (target sub-segments, positioning, wedge strategy); using AI-native tools (Claude, Cursor, etc.) to prototype working software from idea to demonstrable alpha in days or hours; bridging market insights and engineering by translating validated concepts into production-ready work; and owning commercial outcomes including adoption, revenue, and land-and-expand metrics.
You'll report directly to the VP Product, work hand-in-hand with Engineering, and have the mandate to define what winning the Utility Owners segment looks like. The role requires flexibility to travel to customer sites and the Austin, TX office as needed. No utility expertise is required, but you'll rapidly become fluent in civil infrastructure, damage prevention, and the regulatory landscape.
4M Analytics is a 120-person startup with offices in Tel Aviv, Israel and Austin, Texas.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS/BE) or MBA in business, computer science, architecture, or industrial engineering
- 7+ years of experience in management consulting and/or product management at B2B SaaS, data, or AI-native companies
- Genuine builder's mentality: ability to independently design, prototype, and ship working software using modern AI tools (portfolio demonstrating deployed web app built with AI preferred)
- Ability to understand what AI is generating well enough to reason about and correct it—not solely dependent on "vibe coding"
- Comfortable operating in 0-to-1, forward-deployed capacity, shaping new products and markets directly with executives and customers without an existing playbook
- Strategic consulting instincts combined with gritty, hands-on building skills
- Sharp communicator who translates cleanly between customer needs and engineering
- Comfortable working shoulder-to-shoulder with CEO and Chief Growth Officer as well as in front of customers
- Flexibility to travel to customer sites and Austin, TX offices as needed
- AI-first mindset: daily use of tools like Claude to prototype, iterate, and demo functioning software
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Top-tier consultancy experience paired with hands-on product experience
- Side project, startup, or open-source work built substantially with AI tools
- Prior exposure to utility infrastructure, civil/damage-prevention work, or regulatory landscape (permitting, compliance, fines, risk on infrastructure projects)
