Deepgram is the leading platform for Voice AI, providing real-time APIs for speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and voice agents at scale. The company has processed over 50,000 years of audio and serves 200,000+ developers and 1,300+ organizations including Twilio, Cloudflare, and Jack in the Box.
As a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer for Strategic Accounts, you will embed directly with enterprise restaurant brands and technology partners to ensure successful voice AI deployments in production environments. This is a hands-on technical role where you own the complete customer journey from discovery through go-live and optimization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead technical discovery and solutioning for enterprise prospects and customers
- Own end-to-end technical implementation of Deepgram's platform, including architecture, configuration, and customization for unique operational requirements (POS integrations, ordering flows, edge cases)
- Monitor and troubleshoot production issues in live deployments, serving as an escalation point for complex technical problems
- Write code, read logs, and ship fixes directly—this is not a coordination role
- Codify deployment patterns into reusable tools, playbooks, and reference architectures for the broader team
- Translate real-world deployment challenges into actionable product requirements
- Partner closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams while maintaining direct customer relationships
You are an excellent software engineer comfortable across APIs, SDKs, webhooks, and cloud infrastructure. You operate with extreme ownership and urgency, treat every deployment as mission-critical, and are energized by solving gritty technical problems in ambiguous, real-world environments. You use AI coding tools to move fast and multiply your output. Deep customer obsession and the ability to learn quickly in unstructured situations are essential.
The role is based in New York City or San Francisco, with occasional travel to customer sites and key business engagements. Deepgram operates with an AI-first mindset—active use of advanced AI tools and continuous experimentation are core to success here.
